it is fuel cell, and according to wikipedia and youtube videos hydrogen and oxygen are send to fuel cell where one side reacts to H2 and other one on O2 so it is probably different materials. One is platinum i can't remember the other but it sure is some noble/exotic material.

Pay close attention to the part where the tech is assembling a cell... What is the material that is etched on the film that he is placing between the gaskets????
